Kevin Spacey is a 'sexual bully,' UK prosecutor tells court

Actor Kevin Spacey is "a sexual bully" and "a man who sexually assaults other men," a British prosecutor alleged Friday at the start of a sexual assault trial in which he is charged with 12 offenses against four men, CNN reported

The two-time Oscar-winning actor entered a not-guilty plea to a dozen sexual assault accusations during a London courtroom trial. The House of Cards star Kevin Spacey is "A man who it would seem delights in making others feel powerless and uncomfortable, a sexual bully," prosecutor Christine Agnew reportedly told jurors at London's Southwark Crown Court.

Agnew told the jury incidents whereby the actor is alleged to have assaulted men who were in their 20s and 30s at the time, including one complainant who alleged "sexual thrill out of this type of sexual aggression," as reported by CNN.

Spacey is accused of 12 offences, including three counts of indecent assault, seven counts of sexual assault, one count of coercing someone into having intercourse without their consent, and one count of coercing someone into having penetrative sex without their consent.

Last year, Spacey was charged. He has denied the allegations.

On Wednesday, jurors were chosen for the case, and they were then excused until Friday.

The accusations concern claimed events that allegedly occurred in and around London between the early 2000s and the early 2010s, during the 12-year tenure of Spacey as creative director of London's Old Vic theatre.

The two males accused of being engaged in the 2008 and 2013 attacks are now in their 30s, according to London's Metropolitan Police, who announced the accusations last year. The alleged victim of the 2005 incidents is currently in his 40s.

Two Academy Awards have been given to Spacey for his performances in The Usual Suspects and American Beauty.

After quitting House of Cards, he just resumed acting. The actor played the lead role in the Netflix series for five seasons until being let go in 2017 amid claims of inappropriate behaviour both on and off the set.

In response to accusations that he pulled up actor Anthony Rapp and laid on top of him at a party in 1986, a New York jury ruled him not guilty of violence last year.

Marvel’s Fantastic Four teaser transports fans to the 1960s in a daring new take

Marvel’s first teaser for The Fantastic Four: First Steps has fans buzzing, not just about the iconic superhero team, but about the film’s decision to root itself firmly in the 1960s. The 20-second clip, devoid of the main cast, offers a glimpse into a bygone era, with a group of children rushing to a storefront to watch the Fantastic Four’s space shuttle launch on a vintage television. This period-piece approach sets the stage for a fresh take on Marvel’s first family, blending retro aesthetics with the cosmic origins of the team.

The teaser’s 1960s setting is a deliberate departure from previous adaptations, which have struggled to capture the essence of the original comics. By anchoring the story in the decade of the Fantastic Four’s creation, Marvel seems to be paying homage to Stan Lee and Jack Kirby’s groundbreaking work. The choice also opens up intriguing narrative possibilities, such as exploring how the team’s emergence impacts a world on the brink of the space race and cultural revolution.

Aaradhya, daughter of Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan, takes legal action against fake news

Aaradhya Bachchan, the 13-year-old daughter of Bollywood stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan, has moved the Delhi High Court to combat the spread of false and misleading content about her online. The court has issued notices to Google, Bollywood Times, and other platforms, demanding their response to the allegations. The next hearing is scheduled for March 17, 2025.

This legal action follows a previous ruling in April 2023, where the court ordered the removal of deceptive videos claiming Aaradhya was critically ill or had passed away. Justice C Hari Shankar, during the 2023 proceedings, condemned such content as “completely intolerable in law,” emphasising that every child, regardless of their background, deserves dignity and respect. The court had also directed Google to disclose the identities of those responsible for uploading such videos and to promptly remove any future misleading content.

Shah Rukh Khan launches Aryan Khan’s Netflix debut "The BA***DS of Bollywood"

Bollywood’s King Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, just dropped a bombshell at Netflix’s Next on Netflix event in Mumbai. The megastar took the stage to announce his son Aryan Khan’s directorial debut, The Ba***ds of Bollywood, and the buzz is already through the roof. Produced under their banner, Red Chillies Entertainment, this series is set to pull back the curtain on the chaotic, glamorous, and often absurd world of Bollywood, with a hefty dose of humour and a no-holds-barred approach.

SRK, ever the charmer, couldn’t hide his pride as he spoke about Aryan stepping into the director’s chair. “If my kids get even half the love you’ve given me, it’ll be more than enough,” he told the crowd, his voice tinged with emotion. But true to form, he couldn’t resist cracking a joke. “People get offended by my jokes, so I stopped making them. I passed that legacy to Aryan and said, ‘Go make your father proud.’”
