Kiara Advani calls her next Indoo Ki Jawani a coming-of-age film

Kiara Advani is on cloud nine these days! Her latest release Kabir Singh (2019) has broken several records within weeks of its release and is still going from strength to strength at the box-office. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Kabir Singh also stars Shahid Kapoor in the lead role and both the actors have been hailed for their outstanding performances in the superhit flick.

While Kabir Singh is still running successfully in several cinemas across the country, Kiara Advani has moved on to start work on her upcoming projects. One of her forthcoming films is Indoo Ki Jawani, which was announced in the month of May, before the release of Kabir Singh.

Talking about Indoo Ki Jawani and her role in it, Kiara Advani tells an Indian daily, “It’s very early to talk about it, but it’s a coming-of-age story. It is really exciting and relevant because the story is set in today’s time. It’s a very lovable character. It’s hilarious and I am quite excited to start the film,” she says.

Right after the official announcement of the film, rumours started floating around that its story focuses on dating apps. When asked about the same, Advani informs, “It is not about dating apps, but a dating app is one of the catalysts in the film. I can’t reveal much about my character at this point in time. But I can assure you all that I will be seen in a completely different shade in this film.”

Apart from Indoo Ki Jawani, which is being produced by Nikkhil Advani and directed by debutant filmmaker Abir Sengupta, Kiara Advani has a number of other exciting projects on her platter.

She has already shot for Dharma Productions’ Shershah opposite Sidharth Malhotra. She has also signed the Netflix original Guilty which will be produced under Dharma Productions’ digital arm, Dharmatic Entertainment. She is also doing horror-comedy Laxmmi Bomb with superstar Akshay Kumar along with some films down South.
