Krystle D'Souza opens up about entering Bollywood

Krystle D'Souza is one of the most popular faces on Indian television. After winning millions of hearts with her performances in such successful shows as Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai, Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil and Brahmarakshas, the gorgeous actress is now stepping into Bollywood with the upcoming mystery thriller Chehre.

Krystle has replaced Kriti Kharbanda who walked out of the film due to date issues. Besides her, Chehre also features megastar Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi in lead roles. Writer-director Rumi Jaffery is helming the project for Anand Motion Pictures Private Limited.

Psyched up about her debut, Krystle D'Souza says that there could not have been a better opportunity than to share the screen with Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi. “I had always wanted to do films. And there could not have been a better opportunity than to share the screen with Amitabh Ji and Emraan. But I got it all in my first film - a great character, interesting story, dream cast, and an amazing team,” said the actress.

When asked how she bagged the female lead role in Chehre, the actress said, “The proper, hardworking way. I went through look tests, make-up, hair and clothes trial, did my scenes with director Rumi Jaffrey and producer Anand Pandit till they went, ‘she is our Natasha’,” she shared.

Krystle D'Souza says that she would seek Ekta Kapoor’s blessing ahead of her launch. For the uninitiated, it was content czarina Ekta Kapoor who launched the acting career of the actress with her 2007 show Kahe Naa Kahe. “I would want Ekta’s blessings, but I would not have wanted to be launched in her film. Because then, the assumption would be that I got the film because of our friendship,” the actress concluded.

Chehre is scheduled to release on 24th April, 2020.
