London Mayor Sadiq Khan wishes Happy Holi

LONDON Mayor Sadiq Khan has extended greetings on the occasion of Holi festival.

"As we see light at the end of the tunnel and plan for a brighter and more colourful future, I would like to wish everyone a Happy Holi," Khan said  in a special video message released on Sunday (28).

Holi is a popular ancient Hindu festival, also known as the 'Festival of colours'.

"I want to send my best wishes to Hindus across London and the world who are celebrating Holi, the festival of colour," Khan said.

"Holi is a celebration of good over evil and heralds the arrival of spring. I know that this year’s celebrations will be different - it’s sadly not possible to come together with family and friends."

The Mayor added that Holi symbolises new hope as we plan for a 'brighter and colourful' future.
