Mogul featuring Aamir Khan to be rechristened as Gulshan?

Speculations are rife in Bollywood corridors that the makers of Gulshan Kumar’s biopic Mogul may change the title of the film. The biopic is expected to be rechristened as Gulshan. Though there is no official word on what led the makers to change the title of the movie, some insiders reveal that the previous title has not been lucky for them and hence, a new title to start the project afresh.

“It is a biopic on Gulshan Kumar, so Gulshan would have been an apt title anyway. But what we are hearing is that the makers had previously preferred to name the film after his moniker of Music Mogul. But now they feel that the title has not been lucky so far, as the film has been delayed inordinately for a variety of reasons. They have also consulted Aamir (Khan) regarding this, and sent the title of Gulshan to be registered with the producers’ association,” a source told a publication.

Announced in 2017, the biopic has indeed faced several delays in production. Earlier Akshay Kumar was set to play Gulshan Kumar in it. However, the actor bowed out of the project due to some creative differences with the makers.

After his exit, Aamir Khan came onboard to produce as well as star in the movie. But because of director Subhash Kapoor’s alleged sexual misconduct with Geetika Tyagi, he too backed out. After taking some time, Khan is back to produce the biopic again and play Gulshan Kumar in it. Since no charges have been proved against Subhash Kapoor, he is still the director of the biopic.

Meanwhile, Aamir Khan is presently busy preparing for his next film Lal Singh Chadda. The actor will reportedly shoot the movie at 100 locations across India. Set to begin production in October, Lal Singh Chadda is being helmed by Advait Chandan of Secret Superstar (2017) fame.
