Mona Singh bags a pivotal part in Laal Singh Chaddha

Aamir Khan’s upcoming film Laal Singh Chaddha has been creating a lot of buzz ever since its official announcement a couple of months ago. It is a remake of the Hollywood classic Forrest Gump (1994), featuring Tom Hanks in the lead role. After Aamir Khan confirmed stepping into the shoes of Hanks in the remake, Kareena Kapoor Khan was the next prominent name to get associated with the project. The remake is being helmed by Advait Chandan who made his directorial debut with Secret Superstar (2017), headlined by Zaira Wasim and Aamir Khan.

Now, according to fresh reports, popular television actress Mona Singh has also joined the star cast of Laal Singh Chaddha. Yes, you heard it absolutely right! Last seen in an ALTBalaji original titled MOM (2019), Singh has been signed on to play a pivotal role in the hugely anticipated film. Laal Singh Chaddha will mark Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Mona Singh’s reunion after filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani’s blockbuster college-caper 3 Idiots (2009).

"Advait Chandan believes Mona fits the role perfectly. The first schedule is underway in Chandigarh, and Mona will join the cast soon,” a well-placed source informed a popular tabloid.

Confirming the development, Mona Singh told the publication. "I am looking forward to our shoot. Life is like a box of chocolates; you never know what you get. For me, it has been a box of wishes that came true. It will be exciting and challenging to play this role as it spans over a lifetime."

The actress is presently busy attending workshops and script-reading sessions with the cast and crew of Laal Singh Chaddha. She is also devoting time to the next season of her popular web-show Kehne Ko Humsafar Hain.
