Movies that disappointed us in 2019

Every year many films hit the screens. Some of them are the most awaited films of the year because they have a good star cast, they are backed by big production houses and many other reasons. In 2019 also there were film moviegoers were eagerly waiting for, but many of them failed to impress when they released.

So, today let’s look at the list of movies that disappointed us in 2019…

Kalank

The first one on the list has to be Kalank. The movie was directed by Abhishek Varman (2 States fame director), produced by Karan Johar and starred actors like Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditya Roy Kapur, and Kunal Kemmu. The trailer and the songs of the film were damn good, but the film turned out to be a boring big-screen outing.

Student Of The Year 2

Karan Johar’s 2012 directorial Student Of The Year was a hit and had also received good reviews from the critics. After seven years, Student Of The Year 2 starring Tiger Shroff, Ananya Panday, and Tara Sutaria released. The film was directed by Punit Malhotra and it was a bad film. The story of the film was boring and even the performances (apart from Ananya Panday’s performance) were disappointing.

PM Narendra Modi

When we are talking about movies that disappointed us in 2019, Omung Kumar’s PM Narendra Modi has to be on the list. The movie was so bad that even Prime Minister Narendra Modi never tweeted about it. From Kumar’s sloppy narration to Vivek Oberoi’s horrible acting, this movie had everything that made it a bad film.

Malaal

When Sanjay Leela Bhansali is producing a film we surely have high expectations from it. So, this year when we entered the theatres to watch SLB’s production venture Malaal we expected it to be a good film. But unfortunately, the movie turned out to be below average and it even failed to make a mark at the box office.

Khandaani Shafakhana

The trailer of Sonakshi Sinha starrer Khandaani Shafakhana was hilarious and even the songs were decent. But the film failed to impress us. With such a good concept in hand, filmmaker Shilpi Dasgupta failed to narrate the story in an interesting manner.

Saaho

After Baahubali franchise, Prabhas was coming on the big screen after a gap of two years with Saaho. The trailer of the film was awesome, but the movie made us feel boredom. It had good action sequences, but the long length, as well as the weak storyline, made Saaho a torturing watch.

Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas

Sunny Deol’s directorial Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas is undoubtedly the worst film of 2019. The movie was a snooze fest and Karan Deol and Sahher Bambba made a disastrous debut with the film. We wonder why this film was made.

Laal Kaptaan

One film that we really thought would change the face of cinema in 2019 was Saif Ali Khan starrer Laal Kaptaan. But that didn’t happen. The trailer of Laal Kaptaan was so engaging that we were super keen to watch it. However, the film turned out to be one of the most boring films of the year with nothing great to offer apart from Saif’s fantastic performance.

Dabangg 3

Last but not the least; we have Dabangg 3 on our list. Salman Khan was coming back on the big screen as Chulbul Pandey after a gap of seven years, so the expectations from the film were quite high. But the movie turned out to be an average big-screen outing with a done and dusted storyline.

Priyanka Chopra becomes India's highest-paid actress with S S Rajamouli film

Priyanka Chopra Jonas is set to star in SS Rajamouli’s highly anticipated film, SSMB29, alongside Mahesh Babu, following the monumental success of RRR. Rajamouli’s next project, with a budget exceeding Rs. 1000 crore, is expected to be a massive cinematic experience, and fans are eagerly awaiting the fresh pairing of Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra.

While excitement builds around the film's grand scale, another major talking point is Priyanka Chopra's reported remuneration for the project. The actress, known for her global appeal, is said to be charging a hefty Rs. 30 crore for SSMB29, making her the highest-paid actress in the Indian film industry. This has reportedly pushed Deepika Padukone, who was previously the highest-paid with a salary of Rs. 15 to 20 crore per film, into second place. "I didn't know what sexy meant": Jennifer Love Hewitt reflects on being sexualized as a teenager

Jennifer Love Hewitt recently reflected on her early years in Hollywood, revealing how she was sexualised as a teenager without fully understanding it at the time. In a candid conversation on Mayim Bialik’s 'Breakdown' podcast, the 45-year-old actress shared that at just 16, she was subjected to inappropriate comments from grown men about her body, particularly her breasts. These remarks were often made openly in interviews, which Hewitt now finds disturbing, given the context of her age.

Hewitt, who became famous after starring in I Know What You Did Last Summer in 1997, recalled how the attention on her physical appearance increased after she appeared on the cover of 'Maxim' in 1999. Men would approach her, mentioning how they took her magazine on trips, but at the time, she didn’t fully grasp the sexual undertones of these comments. “I didn’t know what that meant,” she admitted, adding that it felt strange to be labelled a sex symbol before even knowing what being "sexy" meant.
