Nitesh Tiwari calls Ramayan a challenging project

Nitesh Tiwari has established himself as one of the finest storytellers in Hindi cinema. Known for such critically and commercially successful films as Chillar Party (2011), Bhootnath Returns (2014) and, of course, Dangal (2016), the filmmaker is currently looking forward to the release of his next directorial venture Chhichhore. Starring Sushant Singh Rajput and Shraddha Kapoor in lead roles, the movie is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on 30th August.

Right after the release of Chhichhore, Nitesh Tiwari will commence work on his next directorial Ramayan, which was announced a couple of days ago. To be made on a humongous budget, the multilingual film is a trilogy venture. The director cannot wait to shift all his focus on the Ramayan trilogy as soon as Chhichhore enters theatres on 30th August. Tiwari will be co-directing the film with Ravi Udyawar who has previously helmed Mom (2017), the last film of veteran actress Sridevi.

Talking to an entertainment website, Nitesh Tiwari says that Ramayan is a challenging project for him. “I am looking forward to work in Ramayan, something that I am really excited about. Once done with Chhichhore, I will go back to start working for Ramayan. It is a challenge for me as I have a sense of responsibility to bring the project in its true form of glory for the country,” says the filmmaker.

The multi-crore project will be made in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. It will feature actors from all the leading film producing industries across India, beyond Bollywood. The makers are aiming for a 2021 release. More details on the live-action trilogy backed by Allu Aravind, Madhu Mantena and Namit Malhotra are awaited.
