Not Just Katrina Kaif, Jacqueline also in the race for PT Usha biopic

A couple of days ago, we informed our readers that Katrina Kaif, who is currently basking in the success of her latest film Bharat (2019), had been approached to play the lead role in a biopic based on the life of award-winning athlete PT Usha. In one of her recent interviews, the actress even confirmed being in talks with the makers of the project.

However, the latest we hear that not only Katrina Kaif but Race 3 (2018) star Jacqueline Fernandez is also in the race to bag the lead part in the biopic. The actress was offered the film a few months ago. She was initially sceptical about carrying the whole film on her shoulders but now she is seriously thinking of doing it.

A source close to the development reveals to an entertainment portal, “Jacqueline Fernandez too has been offered the part. Jacqueline, who was taking a small acting course, is back to the city and recently met the biopic’s director to discuss the film. She had been approached for the project a few months ago. Although initially, she was sceptical of leading a complete film, Jacqueline wants to experiment with her characters now. She has not only been approached for the PT Usha biopic but is also in talks for the remake of Arth (1983). In all probabilities, she will play Smita Patil’s role from the original.”

Meanwhile, Katrina Kaif is presently in Hyderabad where she is shooting for her next film Sooryavanshi. Directed by ace filmmaker Rohit Shetty, the cop-drama stars superstar Akshay Kumar as the male lead. Sooryavanshi reunites the gorgeous actress with Akshay Kumar after a gap of 9 long years. They last appeared together in Farah Khan’s heist drama Tees Maar Khan (2009).
