PALTAN: BOX OFFICE BATTLE

IT DIDN’T surprise me that the recently released trailer for Paltan was terrible and I predict

the war drama based on a 1967 battle will bomb badly at the box office next month. That is because Paltan director JP Dutta is a massively overrated filmmaker who has only had one bonafide blockbuster in over 40 years, and that was more than 20 years ago with Border. Him being a terrible filmmaker, combined with a largely Clist cast, was always going to

be a recipe for disaster and I expect the film’s investors to incur heavy losses.

While others understandably fled or retreated, Samir acted, driven by a selfless courage that cost him a stab wound. This wasn’t just an act of bravery; it’s pure, unforgettable heroism.
