Pankaj Tripathi looking forward to his first solo hero film Kaagaz

National Film Award-winning actor Pankaj Tripathi has proved his versatility time and again. There is a long list of movies where he even successfully gave lead actors a run for their money. Be it a well fleshed-out character or a brief appearance, Tripathi has always managed to leave his impression on the minds of the audience.

After spending more than a decade in Bollywood, Pankaj Tripathi is looking forward to the release of his first solo hero project, titled Kaagaz. “When I joined the movies, I had never imagined that any of these wonderful things were possible for me. I came to the movies with modest expectations, looking for good work,” said the critically-acclaimed actor.

Adding further, he said, “The very fact that the audience welcomed me with so much love is humbling. Kaagaz is my first solo hero project, and there is nothing more fulfilling for an actor than the after-feeling of being part of such a strong story. About 10 years ago, the idea of a Bollywood hero was different. Today, we honour the story and its requirement.”

Kaagaz is inspired from a true story of a farmer who was declared dead on paper when his relatives grabbed hold of his land with the help of a corrupt official. Actor-filmmaker Satish Shah has directed the film, while superstar Salman Khan has produced it under his production house, Salman Khan Films.

"Movies like Stree (2018), Badhaai Ho (2018) and Article 15 (2019) define new-age cinema and Kaagaz belongs to that space. Pankaj has done a brilliant job. The film is very close to my heart and I am grateful to Salman for supporting my vision. After Tere Naam (2003) I could not make another film with him. I am glad that we have collaborated on this one,” Satish Kaushik had earlier said.

Besides Pankaj Tripathi, Kaagaz also stars singer-actress Monali Thakur in the lead role. The official release date of the film is yet to be announce.
