Prabhas in, Ranbir Kapoor out of Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s next?

A couple of months ago, Bollywood was buzzing with reports that filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who shot to instant fame after the runaway success of his debut film Kabir Singh (2019), was planning his next Bollywood directorial with Ranbir Kapoor. Some media outlets even reported that the actor had given his verbal nod to the project.

However, when producer Bhushan Kumar was asked about the same, he denied roping in any actor in the high-profile project. "We are doing the film. But no one actor has been finalised. He is still writing the script. When it'll be ready, we will officially announce it. No one has been approached yet,” he said.

According to reports, Vanga is planning to helm a dark crime thriller titled Devil. T-Series has come onboard to bankroll the project. While Ranbir Kapoor’s name has been linked to it since the very beginning, fresh reports suggest that Baahubali star Prabhas has replaced the Sanju (2018) actor in Vanga’s next directorial offering. However, there is no official confirmation on the same.

If latest reports are to be believed, Ranbir Kapoor has walked out from the project and his exit from it paved the way for Prabhas to come onboard. Prabhas, who was last seen in multilingual Saaho (2019), has reportedly read the script and has given a nod to the project. An official announcement is awaited.

Meanwhile, Prabhas is looking forward to commencing the next schedule of his upcoming project Jaan. The Housefull 4 (2019) actress Pooja Hegde has been paired opposite him in the film. Jaan will be jointly produced by Gopikrishna Movies and UV Creations. To be directed by Radhakrishana It will release in Hindi as well.
