Pranitha Subhash to enter Bollywood with Hungama 2, not Bhuj?

A couple of days ago, we had reported that popular South Indian actress Pranitha Subhash had bagged her second Hindi movie. Titled Hungama 2, the film is a sequel to the 2003 comic-caper Hungama. Before coming onboard for Hungama 2, the actress had already started shooting for T-Series Films’ Bhuj: The Pride of India which was supposed to mark her debut in Bollywood. The latest we hear that her second film Hungama 2 may release before Bhuj: The Pride of India.

Hungama 2 marks the directorial comeback of noted filmmaker Priyadarshan in Bollywood. Known for such super successful films as Hera Pheri (2000), Garam Masala (2005) and Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007), the director is returning to helm a Hindi film after a huge gap of seven years. Before signing Pranitha, Priyadarshan had roped in newcomer Meezaan Jaffery for the male lead.

Looks like Pranitha will be making her Bollywood debut with Hungama 2 instead of Bhuj: The Pride of India. “Pranitha has already signed a Bollywood film called Bhuj: The Pride of India, which has been in the making for a while now, and it is also a multi star-cast film. But Priyadarshan is known to have a quick turnaround in the making of his films, and is expected to make and release Hungama 2 much before Bhuj, and hence this will be Pranitha’s Bollywood debut,” a source in the know tells a publication.

Besides Meezaan Jaffery and Pranitha Subhash, Hungama 2 will also star gorgeous Shilpa Shetty in an important role. Paresh Rawal, Shakti Kapoor and Rajpal Yadav have been retained from the original cast to feature in the sequel. The movie begins production on 6th January.
