Priyanka Chopra to star opposite Richard Madden in Amazon series Citadel

Actor Richard Madden, who is known for such hugely successful shows as Bodyguard and Game of Thrones, has been roped in to pair opposite Quantico star Priyanka Chopra in much-talked-about Citadel, Anthony and Joe Russo’s thriller series for streaming media giant Amazon Prime Video.

Chopra, who is also executive producing an Amazon Prime series inspired by her sangeet ceremony with pop sensation Nick Jonas, confirmed the news on her Instagram account by sharing some articles published on digital media outlets.


The actress wrote that she cannot wait to work alongside talented Madden Richard and incredible Russo Brothers. "Cannot wait to work alongside the super talented Madden Richard and incredible Russo Brothers on this new series. Get ready! Citadel will be a multi-layered global franchise with interconnected local language productions from India, Italy and Mexico. It will truly be global content. More details soon,” wrote the global star.

Last seen in Bollywood film The Sky Is Pink (2019), which she co-produced with Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapur, Priyanka Chopra also stars in two upcoming Netflix films We Can Be Heroes by Robert Rodriguez, and an adaptation of well-known author Aravind Adiga’s Man Booker Prize winning novel The White Tiger. She is cast opposite incredibly talented Rajkummar Rao in The White Tiger.

On the other hand, Richard Madden is currently shooting for Chloe Zaho’s The Eternals in which he has been paired opposite gorgeous Angelina Jolie. The actor was most recently seen in Sam Mendes’s 1917, which went on to win the coveted Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture – Drama.

Northern Ireland approves extension of post-Brexit trade rules

NORTHERN Ireland’s devolved government has voted to continue implementing post-Brexit trading arrangements under the Windsor Framework, a deal signed between London and the European Union in February 2023.

The vote in the Northern Ireland Assembly at Stormont extended the arrangement for four years.

THE bereavement rates due to Covid in Scotland have been highest among those identifying with ‘Any other’ ethnic group (68 per cent), followed by Indians (44 per cent) and Pakistanis (38 per cent), a new study revealed. This is significantly higher than the national average of around 25 per cent.

Ethnic groups were found to be two-and-a-half times more likely to have experienced the loss of a close family member during the Covid crisis.

US PRESIDENT-ELECT Donald Trump has nominated Indian-American attorney Harmeet K Dhillon as assistant attorney general for civil rights at the Department of Justice.

“I am pleased to nominate Harmeet K Dhillon as assistant attorney general for civil rights at the US Department of Justice,” Trump announced on Monday on Truth Social, his social media platform.
