Priyanshu Painyuli on sharing screen space with Chris Hemsworth in Extraction

Who would not like to share the screen space with Hollywood superstar Chris Hemsworth and that too in a project bankrolled by Russo brothers! Needless to say, Priyanshu Painyuli is psyched up about being a part of the upcoming Netflix film Extraction which was shot in India in 2019.

In addition to Chris Hemsworth and Priyanshu Painyuli, Extraction features several Indian faces including hugely talented actors Pankaj Tripathi and Randeep Hooda. Hollywood actors Golshifteh Farahani and David Harbor also essay important roles in the Sam Hargrave directorial.

As the title suggests itself, Extraction is a kidnap drama. Hemsworth plays the character of a mercenary, Rake, who is hired to rescue the son of a business tycoon. Priyanshu Painyuli also plays a meaty role in the movie and to get into the skin of his character, he transformed himself completely.

Talking about his part, Painyuli says, “It is a very interesting story. I am playing a very special role, in a surprise package. I am eagerly waiting to see myself. I haven’t done anything like this before. I can’t wait for people to watch this film. It is an experience I will always cherish. My biggest takeaway from this was the discipline of it. Everyone was so well-prepped and so thorough with their scenes. The research is so well-rounded that there is zero scope for errors when the actor is in front of the camera. Everything is already on the storyboard, discussed and vetted, before the scene. I have been able to inculcate a more methodical approach to work.”

The actor goes on to add that it was a delightful experience to work with someone like Chris Hemsworth. “When you work with someone like him, you realise the value of being grounded. He is warm and kind as a colleague. He had this incredible zest to learn more and do better and the fact that the team made me so comfortable that I wanted to give my best,” he concludes.
