Rajkummar, Ayushmann and Vicky in consideration for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2

Rumours have been doing the rounds lately that filmmaker Bhushan Kumar is planning to develop the 2007 horror-comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa into a franchise and roll the next instalment in 2020. It looks like that Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is indeed in the works because, as per reports, the makers have begun the casting process.

According to reports, Rajkummar Rao, Ayushmann Khurrana and Vicky Kaushal have been shortlisted to take the franchise forward. A source close to the development reveals to a popular entertainment portal that the script has been almost locked and now the casting process has begun.

“The script of the film is almost done and so as to not waste time, the makers have begun the casting process. Till now, the options for the male lead have been brought down to just three names. Vicky Kaushal, Ayushmann Khurrana and Rajkummar Rao are the three names that have been shortlisted. There will be more follow-ups, screen tests, look tests and the likes after which either one of the three will be cast in the lead role of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2,” lets on the source.

Rajkummar Rao, Ayushmann Khurrana and Vicky Kaushal are three of the finest actors that we have today in Bollywood. It is definitely going to be extremely difficult for the makers to pick one actor over the other two. The source also admits the same.

“Vicky Kaushal, Ayushmann Khurrana and Rajkummar Rao have each had their share of success at the box office, and each of them has proved they have what it takes to feature in a comedy. In fact, it is a tough call right now since each of the three has their own strengths,” the source concludes.

According to reports, Farhad Samji will direct Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. He has also written the script of the film. More details are awaited.
