Rakesh Roshan to Sonali Bendre; five Bollywood celebrities and their cancer battle

Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan on Tuesday (8) confirmed that his father Rakesh Roshan has been diagnosed with early stage throat cancer.

Taking to Instagram, Hrithik shared that the actor-turned-filmmaker will undergo surgery on Tuesday.

Posting a picture of him with Rakesh, Hrithik wrote: “Asked my dad for a picture this morning. Knew he wouldnt miss gym on surgery day. He is probably the strongest man I know. Got diagnosed with early stage squamous cell carcinoma of the throat a few weeks ago, but he is in full spirits today as he proceeds to battle it. As a family, we are fortunate and blessed to have a leader like him. .Love you Dad.”

Sadly, Rakesh is not the only celebrity who has had to deal with cancer in recent times.

Here are four others who are continuing their battle of having overcome the disease.

Sonali Bendre: In 2018, the Hum Saath Saath Hai actress revealed she has been diagnosed with metastatic cancer. She was in the US for more than six months undergoing treatment for cancer and is currently back home in Mumbai.

Irrfan Khan: Irrfan Khan was diagnosed with neuroendocrine cancer last year and he announced the news via a Twitter post.

The actor wrote: “It’s been quite some time now since I have been diagnosed with high-grade neuroendocrine cancer. This new name in my vocabulary, I got to know, was rare, and due to fewer study cases, and less information comparatively, the unpredictability of the treatment was more. I was part of a trial-and-error game.”

Nafisa Ali: In November 2018, Nafisa Ali revealed she was diagnosed with stage 3 of cancer. But she hasn't let the diagnosis pull her down. She told Mumbai Mirror that she wants to get fit so she can welcome her grandchild in the first week of June. The actress said: "My children are the reason for me to overcome cancer. My daughter is three months pregnant, she's due in the first week of June. I have to get better by then in time to welcome my third grandchild."

Manisha Koirala: Manisha Koirala is a cancer survivor and she has opened up about her battle with the disease in her new book titled Healed: How Cancer Gave Me a New Life. In the book, Manisha has revealed that cancer helped her survive and thrive instead of destroying her.

Jay-Z, Diddy accused of raping 13-year-old in updated civil suit

MUSICIAN and producer Jay-Z has been accused in a lawsuit filed on Sunday of raping a 13-year-old girl alongside hip-hop star Sean Combs in 2000, according to court documents. The updated complaint is part of a civil case against Combs, and Jay-Z, whose legal name is Shawn Carter, has denied the allegations.

The lawsuit alleges that Carter and Combs assaulted the minor at an afterparty following the MTV Video Music Awards in September 2000. "Another celebrity stood by and watched as Combs and Carter took turns assaulting the minor. Many others were present at the afterparty, but did nothing to stop the assault," the complaint reads.
