Ranbir Kapoor in Shah Rukh Khan out from Don 3?

Don 3, the much-awaited third instalment of the super successful Hindi film franchise Don (2006), is in news again. The latest update on the project may surprise many people to no end. Buzz has it that Ranbir Kapoor might replace superstar Shah Rukh Khan in Don 3. Yes, you heard that absolutely right! According to reports, filmmaker Farhan Akhtar is keen to cast Ranbir Kapoor as the new face of the franchise.

While Ranbir Kapoor is rumoured to be joining forces with Farhan Akhtar, Shah Rukh Khan is reportedly teaming up with hit filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani for his next project. Interestingly, Hirani directed Ranbir in his last directorial venture Sanju (2018), which turned out to be the biggest film of the latter’s career.

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan is choosing his projects quite carefully after the debacle of his ambitious film Zero (2018). After the release of the Aanand L Rai directorial, the megastar was planning to step into the shoes of Indian astronaut Rakesh Sharma to play him in his biopic Saare Jahan Se Achcha, which had been in the pipeline for close to three years now.

However, the epic failure of Zero hit Khan so much that he walked out of Saare Jahan Se Achcha weeks before it was set to take off. The last-minute exit of the superstar from the film, reportedly, hurt producers Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapur a lot. The ambitious film is still in limbo as the makers are yet to find a suitable replacement to play Rakesh Sharma. If SRK has indeed signed Rajkumar Hirani’s next film, it will definitely be something out of the box.

Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor is presently shooting for his much-awaited film Brahmastra. Also starring Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan and Mouni Roy, the Ayan Mukerji directorial will enter theatres in 2020. Besides Brahmastra, the Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (2016) will also be seen in Yash Raj Films’ Shamshera, co-starring Sanjay Dutt and Vaani Kapoor.
