Randeep Rai comments on the end of his breakout show YUDKBH

After a glorious run of two years, Sony Entertainment Television’s popular show Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai is set to bid adieu to the audience. Launched with much fanfare on 5th September, 2017, the series was set in the 1990s. Soon after its launch, it became one of the top-rated shows on the channel because viewers really enjoyed the nostalgia it evoked.

Ever since the news emerged that Sony Entertainment Television has decided to end Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai, not only the fans of the show but the actors are also in shock. The channel has communicated its decision of ending the show to the entire cast and crew and everyone is sad to hear the news.

Randeep Rai, who plays the character of Sameer on Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai, says that he will need some time to cope with this news. “I have lived the character and I am not exaggerating when I say that my identity has only been Sameer for the last two years. I will need some time to cope with this,” says the actor.

Ashi Singh, who plays Naina, adds, “When I was offered Naina’s role, I was told that she is a simple, non-glamorous girl and, at that time, I was a bit reluctant because every other girl on TV is stylish and glamorous. I feel that the show could have gone on for another year. However, now that it’s ending, it has given me more confidence to move on to other things.”

For the uninitiated, Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai is based on the love story of producer Shashi and Sumeet Mittal. When producer Sumeet Mittal was asked about the reason behind ending the show despite it doing well, he says, “I feel that Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai has run its course; we didn’t want to bring it to a level where the viewers feel that it’s dragging. Also, it was based on our life story and struggles, and after a certain point, the audience doesn’t enjoy watching the struggles for too long.”

Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai will beam its final episode on 16th August, 2019, as per reports.
