Ranveer Singh’s Simmba (2018) was always tipped to earn big at the box-office, but the kind of trending it has shown at the cash counter ever since buzzing into theatres on 28th December is unprecedented.
The Rohit Shetty directorial opened to positive response and has been smashing one box-office record after another ever since its release. Not only multiplex audiences, but the cop drama is connecting well with single screen audiences also. Now, the blockbuster movie has joined the prestigious club of ₹ 200 crore domestically.
Besides Ranveer Singh, Simmba also stars Sara Ali Khan, Sonu Sood and Ashutosh Rana in significant roles. The movie has cameos by superstars Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar. Simmba opened its account with ₹ 20.72 on day one and then went on to rack up ₹ 159.83 crore by the end of its first week at the ticket window.
The film maintained its hold through the weekdays in its second week also and put up impressive figures at display. On Monday, it garnered ₹ 6.16 crore followed by ₹ 6.03 crore on Tuesday, taking its cumulative collection to a humongous ₹ 202.83 crore. The film has crossed the ₹ 200 crore mark in just 12 days and is set to make more money in coming days.
