Actor Ranveer Singh is on a roll. The trailer of his forthcoming film Padmavati has garnered an unprecedented response with the majority of the audience praising his menacing look in the film. The actor will soon start shooting for his next film Gully Boy with Alia Bhatt. Besides Gully Boy, another interesting project that Singh has in his kitty is the film 83, which chronicals Indian Cricket team's victory in the 1983 Word Cup.
In 1983, India won its first ever cricket world cup, changing the fate of sports in India forever. The man, who played an integral role in the smashing triumph was captain Kapil Dev, who helped the underdog team winning the coveted cup against the West Indies.
Director Kabir Khan was so inspired by the story that a couple of weeks ago he announced a film on the same with Ranveer Singh in the once-in-a-lifetime role of Kapil Dev.
After announcing the film at a glitzy event held a few weeks back, Reliance Entertainment on Sunday revealed the release date of the movie via a tweet, which read, “@RelianceEnt & @FuhSePhantom in association with Vibri Media & Kabir Khan Films to release ‘83 on 5th April 2019!”
Besides Reliance entertainment, Phantom Films is also onboard as a co-producer of the film. Talking about the film, Madhu Mantena of Phantom Films said, “We are extremely proud to be a part of 83. It is a story waiting to be told. I am sure the audience across the globe will love the film when it releases on April 5, 2019.”
