The release date of Parmanu to be deferred again

Starring John Abraham and Diana Penty in lead roles, the forthcoming film, Parmanu: The Story Of Pokhran, was initially expected to release on 8th December 2017. However, the makers decided to come on some other date as Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus, Padmavati, was slated to hit screens on 1st December 2017.

After shifting their film's release from 8th December, the makers of Parmanu: The Story Of Pokhran decided to lock 23rd February as the new release date of the movie. The film was set to clash with Rani Mukerji's Hichki which arrives in cinemas on the same date. However, soon the makers discovered that producer Vashu Bhagnani is also coming up with his film Boom Boom In New York on the same date. The film stars Sonakshi Sinha, Diljit Dosanjh and Karan Johar.

Now, some sources reveal that the makers of Parmanu: The Story Of Pokhran don't want to clash with two films and hence they are most likely to change the release date for the third time. “A three-way clash will hamper the movie’s business and nobody wants to lose money. Plus, KriArj has just announced that Pari is coming on March 2, so it doesn’t make sense for them to have two films releasing back-to-back," reveals a source.

But looks like John Abraham, who is co-producing the film with KriArj Entertainment, is not happy with constant changes in the release date. “Reportedly, John wasn’t too happy to leave the December 8 spot as well. So, it will take a bit of convincing but he should understand the scenario and think about what serves his film best,” adds another source.

Directed by Abhishek Sharma, Parmanu: The Story Of Pokhran revolves around the successful nuclear tests conducted in Pokhran, Rajasthan back in 1998.
