Rubina Dilaik confirms quitting Shakti – Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki

There is a long list of television actors who bid adieu to their popular shows when the makers decided to introduce generation leaps and age the lead cast. Yet another popular actor is quitting her superhit show for the same reason.

We are talking about Rubina Dilaik, one of the highest-paid actresses on Indian television, who has several successful shows on her resume including Chhoti Bahu and Punar Vivah - Ek Nayi Umeed. The popular television star has confirmed that she is bowing out of her successful Colors’ show Shakti – Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki wherein she plays the lead role of a transgender.

What makes the development even more interesting is the fact that actor Vivian Dsena, who played the male lead opposite Rubina, exited the show just a couple of weeks ago. Soon after his exit, the show underwent a change and is now gearing up to witness a generation leap soon. Dilaik, who plays Soumya, will no longer be seen after the upcoming leap.

Confirming the development, Rubina Dilaik told an entertainment portal, “I am not continuing post leap. I have no idea about the continuation of the character though. The actress went on to add, “I am passing on the baton to the new generation and from there on-wards they will continue the legacy.”

After the upcoming generation leap, Shakti – Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki will feature actress Jigyasa Singh and Simba Nagpal as the new lead couple who will take the story forward. The makers are expected to introduce the leap later this month. Promos of the new look have already been released on the channel.

Produced by Rashmi Sharma Telefilms, Shakti – Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki hit the small screen on 30th May, 2016. It has been one of the top-rated shows on Colors ever since its launch.
