Saif Ali Khan on Sara Ali Khan taking the Love Aaj Kal legacy forward: I don’t think Love Aaj Kal is my legacy at all

Exactly, 10 years ago, released Imtiaz Ali’s Love Aaj Kal starring Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles. The film was a super hit at the box office and the songs of the film are still loved by people especially the track Chor Bazari.

Now after a decade, Imtiaz Ali is coming up with a sequel to the film titled Aaj Kal. Interestingly, the movie stars Saif Ali Khan’s daughter Sara Ali Khan as the female lead and Kartik Aaryan will be seen romancing her in the film.

Recently, while talking to a daily, when Saif was asked about Sara taking the Love Aaj Kal legacy forward, the actor said, "I don’t think Love Aaj Kal is my legacy at all. I don’t think of it as Sara taking the franchise forward. That’s an interesting thought, which I hadn’t thought before. I think if anything, it’s Imtiaz’s franchise and his legacy that perhaps he is taking forward, I was just a part of it."

"If Sara is a part of it, I see no relation between the two movies. Maybe that’s because I don’t view the profession as legacy-based. I just think she is a really interesting personality on-screen. Sara is very smart and got her own lovely ideas about things, so it’s refreshing to talk to her,” he added.

Further talking about both the movies, Saif said, "I don’t see it as a continuation. If it had been, I think that’s a producer’s thought, and I probably would have produced it for her or something like this. That’s just no how it has come about. Imtiaz should probably try and make one of these every 10 years, calling it Aaj Kal with different actors! I am hoping it is a different story, though."

Aaj Kal also stars Randeep Hooda and it is slated to release on Valentine’s Day 2020.

Budget halted economic growth, Bank of England warns

THE Bank of England has cautioned that the UK economy is stagnating, following measures introduced in chancellor Rachel Reeves’s budget. Businesses are reportedly responding to tax hikes and a higher minimum wage by cutting jobs and raising prices.

Andrew Bailey, the Bank's governor, revealed that growth forecasts for the final quarter of 2024 have been downgraded to "zero." He also stressed a cautious approach to reducing interest rates, which remain at 4.75 per cent, citing economic uncertainty. “We need to ensure we meet the 2 per cent inflation target sustainably,” Bailey said.
