Saiyami Kher signed on to topline an Anurag Kashyap directorial?

After receiving great critical acclaim for his last release Manmarziyan (2018), filmmaker Anurag Kashyap is, reportedly, gearing up to call the shots for his next directorial venture. Though nothing much is known about his upcoming film, some media outlets report that actress Saiyami Kher has been finalized to play the female lead in it.

Saiyami Kher made her acting debut with renowned filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Mirzya in 2016. Besides her, Mirzya also launched Anil Kapoor’s son Harshvardhan Kapoor in Bollywood. Despite being made on a huge scale and Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra at the director’s chair, the big-ticket film failed to attract audiences to theatres and was termed as a disaster at the box-office.

After the epic failure of Mirzya, Saiyami Kher did not bag any new projects in Bollywood. But now it is learnt that filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has signed her on to play the female lead in his next film. Kashyap has recently laid the foundation of his new banner. The new project will be made under the same production house.

Though the title and other important details on the project are being strictly kept under wraps, rumours are rife that Malayalam actor Roshan Mathew has been cast to play the male lead opposite Saiyami Kher. Mathew is known for his sterling performances in such films as Aanandam (2016), Koode (2018) and Thottappan (2019), among others.

Meanwhile, Saiyami Kher is gearing up to make her digital debut with Amazon Prime Video’s upcoming web-series Breathe 2. Bollywood star Abhishek Bachchan is also entering the web-space with the same digital series. Breathe 2, which is the second season of Breathe (2018), also stars Amit Sadh in the lead role.
