Sajid Nadiadwala puts Kick 2 in cold storage?

After producing a series of blockbusters over the years, producer Sajid Nadiadwala made his directorial debut with the 2014 film Kick. Starring Salman Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Randeep Hooda in important roles, Kick struck the right chord with the audience and emerged as one of the highest-grossing films of the year.

Buoyed up by the riotous response to the action entertainer, the makers went on to announce its sequel Kick 2 in 2018. However, the project could not take off on time for a variety of reasons. The latest we hear that Sajid Nadiadwala is planning to scrap the sequel after not much success with developing its script.

A well-placed source informs a publication that the makers have no script to make a sequel to Kick 2. “There is no script for Kick 2. Producer Sajid Nadiadwala, who will direct Kick 2 just as he had directed the first part, has been trying to crack an idea for the last two years, without success.”

The source goes on to add, “Sajid Nadiadwala won’t even think of starting the film until he has a script. Forget the script, there is no story idea for Kick 2.”

Meanwhile, Sajid Nadiadwala and Salman Khan are set to collaborate on another film, titled Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali. The film, to be directed by Farhad Samji, is expected to go before cameras in the second half of the year as the makers are planning to release it on Eid 2020.

Actress Pooja Hegde, who was last seen in superhit multi-starrer Housefull 4 (2019), has been roped in to romance Khan in the movie. This will be the first time when the actress shares the screen space with the superstar.
