Sajid Nadiadwala signs Pooja Hegde for three films?

Superstars signing a multi-film deal with leading production houses is not a new thing in Bollywood. But now actresses have also joined the bandwagon. According to reports, Pooja Hedge has inked a three-film deal with renowned filmmaker Sajid Nadiadwala’s Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment.

Reportedly, Pooja, who entered Bollywood with Ashutosh Gowariker’s period drama Mohenjo Daro (2016), impressed Nadiadwala with her work in the forthcoming comic-caper Housefull 4 so much that the filmmaker signed her for three more projects to be made under his banner.

“Sajid Nadiadwala has always had a keen eye for talent and is very impressed by Pooja’s work in Housefull 4. While the film has an ensemble star cast, who have long been associated with the franchise, Pooja managed to hold her own and everyone has been raving about her comic timing. Sajid launched names like Tiger Shroff and mentored actors like Jacqueline Fernandez and Disha Patani among others. He now sees immense potential in Pooja and there are rumours of him signing her for 3 films under the Nadiadwala Grandson banner, details of which are under wraps at the moment”.

Apart from Bollywood, Pooja Hedge also works in Telugu films and is one of the most sought-after actresses there. Before becoming an actress, she was crowned as the second runner-up at the Miss Universe India 2010 competition.

Her film Housefull 4, also starring Akshay Kumar, Bobby Deol, Riteish Deshmukh, Kriti Sanon and Kriti Kharbanda in prominent roles, is set to release on Diwali 2019. Farhad Samji has helmed the project.

  • Part of wider plan to fight violence against women and online harm.
  • Tech firms will be forced to block such content or face heavy Ofcom fines.
  • Experts say the ban responds to medical evidence and years of campaigning.

You see it everywhere now. In mainstream pornography, a man’s hands around a woman’s neck. It has become so common that for many, especially the young, it just seems like part of sex, a normal step. The UK government has decided it should not be, and soon, it will be a crime.

The plan is to make possessing or distributing pornographic material that shows sexual strangulation, often called ‘choking’, illegal. This is a specific amendment to the Crime and Policing Bill. Ministers are acting on the back of a stark, independent review. That report found this kind of violence is not just available online, but it is rampant. It has quietly, steadily, become normalised.
