Sanju Poster: Director Rajkumar Hirani introduces Anushka Sharma

The upcoming Hindi film Sanju, which is a biopic on actor Sanjay Dutt, is one of the highly awaited movies of 2018. Starring Ranbir Kapoor as Sanjay Dutt, the film has been one of the major talking points ever since mounting the shooting floor. As promised, director Rajkumar Hirani has been taking to Twitter to introduce the whole cast of the biopic, giving insights into the eventful life Sanjay Dutt has led so far.

Today, the ace filmmaker took to Twitter to introduce Anushka Sharma. The actress is seen in an all different avatar, donning a retro look with short curly hair. She plays a pivotal role in the film helping the story to unravel. Hirani, however, did not reveal the character’s name Anushka plays in the movie. The audience will get to know more about her character tomorrow when the makers launch the trailer of the movie.


Sanju marks Anushka Sharma’s second association with filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani. After playing the female lead in Hirani’s massive blockbuster PK, the versatile actress will be seen in a special appearance in the biopic.

Sharing the latest poster on Twitter, Rajkumar Hirani said, "And here is my dear friend Anushka. It’s a special appearance....but she worked on every nuance of the role for days together. Can anyone guess who she plays?....Will reveal tomorrow at the trailer launch. @AnushkaSharma #RanbirKapoor #RajkumarHiraniFilms @VVCFilms @foxstarhindi".

Co-written and directed by Rajkumar Hirani, Sanju also stars Paresh Rawal, Manisha Koirala, Sonam Kapoor, Karishma Tanna, Dia Mirza, Jim Sarbh and Vicky Kaushal.

Produced by Vinod Chopra Films and Rajkumar Hirani Films in association with Fox Star Studios. Sanju rolls into cinemas on 29th June 2018.

Neil Young confirms Glastonbury performance after initial withdrawal
