Sara Ali Khan to be paired opposite Shahid Kapoor in Kaminey 2?

Neo-noir action thriller Kaminey was one of the most critically successful movies of 2009. Starring Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra in principal roles, Kaminey was helmed by acclaimed filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj. Now, eleven years after the release of the film, buzz has it that Bhardwaj is planning to roll out a sequel to it.

According to reports, Sara Ali Khan is in talks to play the female lead opposite Shahid Kapoor in Kaminey 2. The actress was recently spotted at the office of Vishal Bhardwaj, which led to these rumours. A source disclosed that the newcomer had a serious conversation with the filmmaker. Also, the makers of Kaminey 2 were looking for an actress to star alongside Shahid Kapoor and Khan fitted the bill perfectly.

“They were zeroing on an actress alongside Shahid Kapoor for Kaminey 2, the second installment of the critically acclaimed film, and Sara has become an obvious choice for the project. If everything works out fine, an official announcement about the same will hopefully be made soon. After the success of her two films Kedarnath (2018) and Simmba (2018), Sara was gearing up for Coolie No. 1 and Love Aaj Kal 2, and now it is just a matter of time that Sara will announce that she will be seen with Sasha,” the source said.

Meanwhile, Sara Ali Khan is busy promoting her forthcoming film Love Aaj Kal 2. It stars her opposite rising Bollywood star Kartik Aaryan. Helmed by master storyteller Imtiaz Ali, the romantic film is scheduled to enter theatres on 14th February 2020. Shahid Kapoor, on the other hand, is shooting for his next film Jersey. It is an official remake of superhit Telugu film of the same name, which hit the marquee last year.
