Satish Kaushik confirms a sequel to Salman Khan’s Tere Naam

Whenever one sits down to list Bollywood star Salman Khan’s best performances of his storied career, it is impossible to not mention the 2003 blockbuster, Tere Naam. Powered by a moving storyline, riveting performances and dulcet soundtrack, the romantic film made each one of us curl up in a ball and cry at the tragic fate of Radhe Mohan, a character played effortlessly by Khan.

Now, after 16 years of its theatrical release, reports are coming in that the movie is set to get a sequel. Satish Kaushik, who directed Tere Naam, has confirmed that he is making Tere Naam 2. “Yes, it’s true. I am making Tere Naam 2 which is a love story. That’s all I can say for now,” said the actor-filmmaker.

Spilling some more beans on the project, a source says that Tere Naam 2 revolves around a gangster and, just like its predecessor, will be set in north India.

When asked if Salman Khan will return to the sequel, the source goes on to add, “Satish and Salman share a great bond and have recently worked together in Bharat. But it is yet to be decided.”

Meanwhile, Salman Khan is presently busy shooting for Dabangg 3. He will soon start promoting his Eid release, Bharat, which reunites the superstar with Katrina Kaif and filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar after their 2017 outing, Tiger Zinda Hai.
