Shah Rukh Khan’s Zero set for a solo release on 21st December

Last seen in the Imtiaz Ali-directed Jab Harry Met Sejal (2017), superstar Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up to grace the silver screen after a gap of more than a year. His next Zero, which is one of the most awaited Bollywood movies of 2018, is slated to hit the marquee on 21st December.

Earlier, the Aanand L Rai directorial was set to clash with veteran actor Anupam Kher’s much-talked-about film The Accidental Prime Minister and Hollywood’s fantasy flick Aquaman. However, now the release of both the films has been shifted to other dates, ensuring Shah Rukh Khan’s Zero faces to competition during its run at the box-office.


Upon being asked how the solo release of Zero is going to benefit the movie, renowned trade analyst told an entertainment portal, "When a big film like Zero is releasing in an ideal situation, you don't want any other competition to be there. However, big or small it is, you want the entire focus on your film only with no distractions. Apart from some media traction, they would definitely also take up some space at the box-office...at the ticket windows. Both APM and Aquaman are films which will have some standing of their own at the BO. There is certainly audience wanting to watch them, so it's good they have moved away making it a clear way for Zero at the box-office. APM is expected to be a strong content film for a higher-end audience and AQ is also expected to be dubbed and promoted aggressively. Both being shifted from the same date is a lot of comfort for makers and fans of Zero."

Produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Colour Yellow Productions, Zero also stars Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma. All three lead actors of the movie were last seen together in celebrated filmmaker Yash Chopra’s last film Jab Tak Hai Jaan (2012).

Northern Ireland approves extension of post-Brexit trade rules

NORTHERN Ireland’s devolved government has voted to continue implementing post-Brexit trading arrangements under the Windsor Framework, a deal signed between London and the European Union in February 2023.

THE bereavement rates due to Covid in Scotland have been highest among those identifying with ‘Any other’ ethnic group (68 per cent), followed by Indians (44 per cent) and Pakistanis (38 per cent), a new study revealed. This is significantly higher than the national average of around 25 per cent.
