Shahid Kapoor to topline an actioner after Jersey

Cinephiles are waiting to see the next film of Shahid Kapoor with bated breath, especially after the humongous success of Kabir Singh (2019), which prides on being one of the highest-grossing movies of the year gone by.

Kapoor will next be seen in Jersey. Helmed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, the film is an official remake of superhit Telugu sports drama of the same name, originally starring Nani and Shraddha Srinath in principal. The remake, which features Super 30 (2019) and Batla House (2019) fame Mrunal Thakur as the female lead, is scheduled to arrive in theatres on 28th August, 2020, but production is currently stalled amidst the Coronavirus outbreak.

Looks like Shahid Kapoor has finalized yet another film even before the release of Jersey. The actor took to social media to share the exciting news with his fans. He revealed that after the release of the hugely anticipated sports drama Jersey, he will be switching genres and headline an action film.

When a fan on Instagram asked Shahid Kapoor if he has any action movies coming up, the actor revealed, “Yes, after Jersey. The next one is an action film.” However, he refrained from sharing any details about the forthcoming project. However, buzz has it that the yet to be titled film is a patriotic action-adventure which will be bankrolled by Fox Star Studios.

Well, we have not seen Shahid Kapoor in an out-and-out action film for a long, long time now. It will be really interesting to see him headline an action adventure film.
