Sidharth Malhotra’s Shershaah to begin shoot soon

After his last release Aiyaary (2018), Bollywood star Sidharth Malhotra is set to play an army officer once again in his upcoming film. But this time around, the movie is a biopic based on the inspirational life of Captain Vikram Batra, who lost his life fighting against enemies during the 1999 Kargil war between India and Pakistan.

Today, the makers of the much-awaited movie announced its official title. To be directed by debutant filmmaker Vishnu Varadhan, the film has been titled Shershaah and will commence production very soon.

Filmmaker Karan Johar, who is bankrolling the project under Dharma Productions, took to his Twitter handle to announce the news. Apart from sharing the official title of the film, he also revealed that Kiara Advani, whom he directed in the Netflix film Lust Stories (2018), has been signed on to play the female lead in Shershaah.

The film is expected to hit screens in the first half of 2020.

Besides Shershaah, Sidharth Malhotra will also be seen in the Ekta Kapoor-produced film Jabariya Jodi and Milap Zaveri’s next directorial Marjaavaan.
