Sridevi’s last film Mom to hit Chinese screens on 10th May

Veteran actress Sridevi, often regarded as the first female superstar of Indian cinema, left a big void in Indian cinematic universe when she breathed her last on 24th February, 2018. Though she is not with us anymore, her films will keep her alive in the hearts of millions of her fans spread all across the world.

Sridevi impressed critics and viewers alike with her riveting performance in the 2017 film Mom, which unfortunately turned out to be her last film. After enthralling audiences in India and some other territories across the globe, the critically and commercially successful film is now set for its Chinese premiere.

Directed by Ravi Udyawar, Mom will enter Chinese theatres on 10th May, ahead of Mothers’ Day on 12th May. Earlier, the film was slated to release on March 22. However, now the makers have shifted it to 10th May.

“We wanted to pick the perfect date for the release of such a special film like Mom in China, which is a huge market and has great potential for the film to do well. As a tribute to all mothers, we have chosen May 10 to release this riveting film in China,” said Vibha Chopra, Head of Zee Studios International (Film Marketing, Distribution and Acquisition).

Besides Sridevi, Mom also features Akshaye Khanna and Pakistani actor Sajal Ali in important roles. The English Vinglish (2012) actress won the National Film Award for Best Actress posthumously for her powerful performance in the movie.
