Stranger Things 4 dethrones Bridgerton 2 to become the most viewed English language series on Netflix

Stranger Things 4 has taken back its title as Netflix’s most-watched English-language series from Bridgerton 2.

The fourth season of Stranger Things premieres in two chunks; the first volume of seven episodes debuted on May 27 and the final two episodes will start streaming on July 1.

Season 4 volume 1 of the Duffer Brothers’ hit sci-fi series broke the record for the biggest-ever premiere weekend of an English-language series, which was previously held by Season 2 of Bridgerton.

According to Netflix’s newly released Top 10 rankings, Season 4 of Stranger Things was viewed for 287 million hours during the week of May 23-30, landing in the No. 1 position. This comes after only three days of availability, as Part 1 of the season debuted with seven episodes on Friday.

All four seasons of Stranger Things made it back into Netflix’s Top 5 titles for the week of May 23-30.

Taking the No. 3 spot with 28 million hours viewed was Season 1 of Stranger Things, which first returned to the Top 10 last week as fans rewatched the series in preparation for Season 4.

Season 3 followed right behind in fourth place with 24.2 million hours, followed by Season 2 in fifth place with 22.2 million hours.

Bridgerton Season 2 was viewed for 193 million hours over its debut weekend, which occurred during the week of March 21-27. That impressive three-day viewership was a record-breaker for the streamer, with Bridgerton Season 2 becoming the most-watched Netflix English-language TV title in its premiere weekend in Netflix history.

Stranger Things 4 now holds that title by breaking the previous record by nearly 50 percent.

The series has already been renewed for its fifth and final season.

Let’s take a look at the top 10 most-viewed English language series on Netflix right now.

Priyanka Chopra becomes India's highest-paid actress with S S Rajamouli film

Priyanka Chopra Jonas is set to star in SS Rajamouli’s highly anticipated film, SSMB29, alongside Mahesh Babu, following the monumental success of RRR. Rajamouli’s next project, with a budget exceeding Rs. 1000 crore, is expected to be a massive cinematic experience, and fans are eagerly awaiting the fresh pairing of Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra.

While excitement builds around the film's grand scale, another major talking point is Priyanka Chopra's reported remuneration for the project. The actress, known for her global appeal, is said to be charging a hefty Rs. 30 crore for SSMB29, making her the highest-paid actress in the Indian film industry. This has reportedly pushed Deepika Padukone, who was previously the highest-paid with a salary of Rs. 15 to 20 crore per film, into second place. "I didn't know what sexy meant": Jennifer Love Hewitt reflects on being sexualized as a teenager

Jennifer Love Hewitt recently reflected on her early years in Hollywood, revealing how she was sexualised as a teenager without fully understanding it at the time. In a candid conversation on Mayim Bialik’s 'Breakdown' podcast, the 45-year-old actress shared that at just 16, she was subjected to inappropriate comments from grown men about her body, particularly her breasts. These remarks were often made openly in interviews, which Hewitt now finds disturbing, given the context of her age.

Hewitt, who became famous after starring in I Know What You Did Last Summer in 1997, recalled how the attention on her physical appearance increased after she appeared on the cover of 'Maxim' in 1999. Men would approach her, mentioning how they took her magazine on trips, but at the time, she didn’t fully grasp the sexual undertones of these comments. “I didn’t know what that meant,” she admitted, adding that it felt strange to be labelled a sex symbol before even knowing what being "sexy" meant.
