Biopics are in vogue in Bollywood. Almost every second month we see one or two biopics arriving in cinemas with much fanfare. Some do well while others fail to thug the right chord with the audience. Actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who has done a biopic on Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, titled M.S Dhoni: The Untold Story is keen to do one more biopic. And this time, not on a cricketer but a freedom fighter.
Recently, when Sushant was asked if given the chance to star in the biopic of a freedom fighter, who would he like to play on screen, he revealed, “It has to be Subhash Chandra Bose because he had his own way of thinking. In 1939, he was almost becoming President of Congress but he could not because, as far as I know, Sitaramayya was there and they had different ideologies. I am more with the ideology that Subhash Chandra Bose had when I read now.”
The actor further adds, “Of course, I don’t know what was happening then. But right now, if I look back, I am more with his way of thinking. So I would love to play him and know why the Forward Block, the Indian National Army was formed. It’s also a very interesting character to play and understand.”
Meanwhile, Sushant Singh Rajput is currently busy preparing for Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan’s Chanda Mama Door Ke and Abhishek Kapoor’s Kedarnath, which will mark the Hindi film debut of Sara Ali Khan.
