Taapsee: I play a millionaire’s daughter in Dil Juunglee who is like Alice In Wonderland

Taapsee Pannu has been a versatile who has played roles in films of varied genres. Taapsee Pannu’s upcoming film Dil Juunglee’s trailer seems to be interesting. The audience  reacted positively towards the same. Taapsee Pannu is paired opposite Saqib Salim in the film. Talking about her character Koroli Nair, Taapsee said to a leading Indian tabloid, "I play a millionaire’s daughter who is like ‘Alice In Wonderland’ in that she has no reality check. She believes everything’s happy in her life and perfect with her world. She’s waiting for this knight in shining armour to come for her one day. I wouldn’t call her a spoilt brat, she’s more like a pampered sweetheart who lives in a bubble of her own."

Taapsee revealed that the movie revolves around a love story. She adds, "It’s these characters who make the film special."


Helmed by Aleya Sen Sharma, Dil Juunglee is scheduled to release on March 9, 2018.

The actress is currently occupied with the shooting of Anurag Kashyap's Manmarziyan which also stars Abhishek Bachchan and Vicky Kaushal.

Talking about working with Anurag Kashyap and Aanand L Rai, the actress had said during an interview, "It's a very beautiful mix of Aanand L. Rai's world with Anurag Kashyap's world. That is why I am pretty excited about it."

Adding further, Taapsee said, "It is a typical Anurag Kashyap style of love story, where you do not have black and white characters. Everyone has certain flaws. It is presented by Aanand L. Rai, who is known for these small time town beautiful (stories)."

India-UK free trade agreement talks to resume by January-end: Report

INDIA and the UK will resume discussions on a free trade agreement (FTA) by the end of January, according to an Indian government source quoted by Reuters on Thursday.

The two nations have been engaged in intermittent talks over the trade agreement for the past two years. Last month, Keir Starmer stated that discussions would restart in the "new year."

Northern Ireland approves extension of post-Brexit trade rules

NORTHERN Ireland’s devolved government has voted to continue implementing post-Brexit trading arrangements under the Windsor Framework, a deal signed between London and the European Union in February 2023.

The vote in the Northern Ireland Assembly at Stormont extended the arrangement for four years.

'Covid bereavement rates in Scotland highest among Asians'

THE bereavement rates due to Covid in Scotland have been highest among those identifying with ‘Any other’ ethnic group (68 per cent), followed by Indians (44 per cent) and Pakistanis (38 per cent), a new study revealed. This is significantly higher than the national average of around 25 per cent.

Ethnic groups were found to be two-and-a-half times more likely to have experienced the loss of a close family member during the Covid crisis.

Trump nominates Harmeet Dhillon for top Department of Justice role

US PRESIDENT-ELECT Donald Trump has nominated Indian-American attorney Harmeet K Dhillon as assistant attorney general for civil rights at the Department of Justice.

“I am pleased to nominate Harmeet K Dhillon as assistant attorney general for civil rights at the US Department of Justice,” Trump announced on Monday on Truth Social, his social media platform.
