Taapsee Pannu in consideration for a social comedy

Highly versatile Taapsee Pannu, who has been consistently delivering successful films at the box-office, may soon reunite with superstar Shah Rukh Khan. The actress has previously starred in Red Chillies Entertainment’s superhit thriller Badla (2019), which also had megastar Amitabh Bachchan in the prominent role. Now, the news is coming in that Pannu is in consideration for a concept-driven social comedy which Shah Rukh Khan is planning to produce under his banner.

Spilling some more beans on Khan’s slate of films, a source close to the development informs an entertainment portal, “Shah Rukh Khan might have stayed away from films in the last two years, but he and his team have already locked several projects that he plans to produce under his banner Red Chillies Entertainment. While two-three of them will have him starring in them, including Rajkumar Hirani's next, there are many others that he plans to bankroll with other actors from the industry.”

The source goes on to add, “There is a social comedy that they have been putting together and the team has internally decided to approach Taapsee for the same. It is a quirky concept-driven film and they wanted someone to shoulder it and given how Taapsee led Badla, the Red Chillies team plans to take it to her.”

Meanwhile, Taapsee Pannu has her date diary filled with a variety of projects, which are currently at various stages of development. Some of her upcoming films in Bollywood include Haseen Dillruba, Looop Lapeta, Rashmi Rocket, Shabash Mithu and an Anurag Kashyap directorial. The actress has also signed a film down south. With such a choc-o-block schedule, it will be interesting to see how she manages to squeeze out time for the said film with Red Chillies Entertainment.
