Tabu reacts to Andhadhun’s win at 66th National Film Awards

Starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Tabu and Radhika Apte in lead roles, Andhadhun was one of the most loved films of 2018. Made on a shoestring budget, the movie went on to inflame the box-office and wrapped up its theatrical run by raking in more than ₹ 75 crores as its lifetime collection at the domestic box-office.

After impressing the audience in 2018 and clenching several awards at various awards functions, Andhadhun continues its winning streak in 2019 also. As the 66th National Film Awards 2019 were announced today, Ayushmann Khurrana and Tabu starrer went on to bag several top honours including the Best Hindi Film Award.


While Ayushmann, who also won the Best Actor award for his outstanding performance in the crime thriller, has already reacted to the big win, Tabu, who is presently in Melbourne, Australia attending the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2019, stated that the movie is extremely close to her heart.

The seasoned actress wished the director, Sriram Raghavan and the entire team for winning top honours at the 66th National Film Awards. “This is a fantastic moment for me. At what a timing it has come. I am currently in Melbourne with the team for the festival. I am just too happy and so gratified. The film is so close to me and my heart and I am very happy that it received this honour. I congratulate Sriram and his team and kudos to everyone,” said the actress.

Meanwhile, Tabu will next be seen in Saif Ali Khan’s home production Jawaani Jaaneman where she plays Khan’s ex-girlfriend. She is also shooting for her comeback Telugu film, tentatively titled AA19. The actress was last seen in Luv Ranjan’s romcom De De Pyaar De (2019) with Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh.
