Tanishaa Mukerji set to stage comeback

After staying away from spotlight for a couple of years, Tanishaa Mukerji is gearing up for her silver screen comeback. Yes, you heard it absolutely right! Last seen in the 2016 biographical film Anna, the actress is coming back to grace celluloid with an upcoming Indo- Pak drama, titled Code Name Abdul. She plays a pivotal role in the film.

Written and directed by Eshwar Gunturu, Code Name Abdul revolves around a secret mission given to RAW and what happens afterwards. The movie will see Tanisha Mukerji performing some high-octane action sequences.

Talking about her character in the film, the actress says, “This is the first time I am doing something in the action thriller space. I am very excited about this project. I have explored a different part of myself through this film.”

Eshwar Gunturu further adds, “I cannot wait for the audience to watch the film. It is a suspense thriller and I am sure it will keep the audience at the edge of their seats. Tanishaa has done a fabulous job and I am sure her fans will love her new avatar.”

Shot across locations in New York City, New Jersey and in jungles of Pennsylvania, Code Name Abdul has already been garnering appreciation at several international platforms. Besides Tanisha Mukerji, the movie also features Ashok Chaudhary, Akku Kulhari, Khatera Hakimi and Sumend Wankhade in important roles.

Tanisha, the daughter of veteran actress Tanuja and sister of Kajol, made her acting debut with the 2003 film Sssshhh… In later years, she went on to appear in films like Neal ‘N’ Nikki (2005), Sarkar (2005) and Sarkar Raj (2008), but she could never achieve the kind of fame and success her mother and sister enjoyed.
