Team Thalaivi drops the first-look and teaser of Jayalalitha biopic

Kangana Ranaut, who keeps hitting headlines every now and then, is back in news again! Today, the makers of her highly awaited film Thalaivi dropped the first-look and teaser which went viral on social media in no time. Everyone is praising the actress for getting into the skin of ace politician Jayalalitha so effortlessly and looking completely unrecognizable.

For the unversed, Thalaivi is a multilingual biographical drama based on the life of former actress and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalitha. In one-and-a-half-minute long teaser, we can see the two most important phases of Jayalalithaa’s life. It begins with Ranaut playing the role of the young Jayalalithaa when she was at the top of her game in the Tamil film industry. Soon the teaser takes us through the next phase of her life where she cemented her position as the political bigwig of Tamil Nadu politics.


Kangana Ranaut has been working assiduously on the film ever since being finalized for the role of Jayalalitha. From learning Tamil to devoting hours to Bharatanatyam, she is doing everything possible to ensure that Thalaivi turns out to be an epic, unforgettable experience for the audience whenever they see the film.

Apart from her, Thalaivi also features Arvind Swami who plays the role of MGR. A.L Vijay is helming the big-ticket project for producers Shaailesh R Singh and Vishnu Vardhan Induri. The film is scheduled to roll into theatres on June 26, 2020, in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

Producer Shaailesh R Singh is ecstatic to be working with Kangana Ranaut once again. “I am happy to collaborate with Kangana yet again after Tanu Weds Manu (2011) and Judgemental Hai Kya. There could not have been anyone other than Kangana to ace and portray this legendary public figure! We can’t wait to showcase her incredible journey to the world on 26th June 2020,” said the producer.

Northern Ireland approves extension of post-Brexit trade rules

NORTHERN Ireland’s devolved government has voted to continue implementing post-Brexit trading arrangements under the Windsor Framework, a deal signed between London and the European Union in February 2023.

THE bereavement rates due to Covid in Scotland have been highest among those identifying with ‘Any other’ ethnic group (68 per cent), followed by Indians (44 per cent) and Pakistanis (38 per cent), a new study revealed. This is significantly higher than the national average of around 25 per cent.
