Teaser of Shahid Kapoor’s Kabir Singh receives warm response

After the dismal performance of his last release Batti Gul Meter Chalu (2018), Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor will be next seen in Cine1 Studios and T-Series Films’ forthcoming joint production, Kabir Singh.

On 6th April, Kapoor and the makers took to social media to announce that they would unveil the teaser of the much-awaited film on Monday. Staying true to their promise, the team of Kabir Singh released the 1-minute-long teaser of the movie today, which has gone viral ever since.

Fans have been showering praises on Shahid Kapoor for not letting them down. The actor plays the character of a final year student, Kabir Singh, at the Delhi Institute Of Medical Science. Though one of the brightest students of his batch, he chooses the path of alcoholism and self-destruction after his girlfriend marries somebody else. Actress Kiara Advani is seen as Kapoor’s love interest, Preethi, in the highly awaited movie.

As we know, Kabir Singh is an official remake of the 2017 film Arjun Reddy, which starred Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey in lead roles. The Telugu-language movie has gained cult status down South and hence, several fans had reservations whether or not the Hindi version would match up to the original film. However, looking at the response the team of Kabir Singh has been receiving after dropping the teaser, it can be said that the makers have not disappointed fans.

Directed by Sandeep Vanga, Kabir Singh is slated to hit the marquee on 21st June, 2019.
