Vicky Kaushal offered Ramesh Taurani’s next film?

Keeping aside the debacle of his 2018 film Race 3, producer Ramesh Taurani is reportedly gearing up to commence work on his next production offering. If fresh reports are to be believed, National Award-winning actor Vicky Kaushal might come onboard to play the male lead in the yet to be titled film.

A well-placed source informs an entertainment portal that the forthcoming film is an action thriller and Vicky Kaushal will take the final call on it once he gets the complete narration. “It is a film in the action thriller space that has been offered to Vicky. The actor met the producer while he was promoting for Bhoot and listened to the idea. Vicky and his team have asked for the whole script and are awaiting a narration that will mostly happen over a video call now. Vicky will decide on whether to take the film up, once he gets the full narration done,” divulges the source.

Though nothing much is known about the project at the moment, buzz has it that renowned filmmaker Sriram Raghavan, who has teamed up with Varun Dhawan for his next film Ekkis, will direct it. A couple of months ago, Ramesh Taurani had confirmed that he was set to join hands with the Andhadhun (2018) helmer for a film. Looks like it is the same project Vicky Kaushal has been approached for. It is going to be really interesting to see if the Masaan (2015) actor will greenlight it or not.

Meanwhile, Vicky Kaushal has his plate full with several interesting projects, including Udham Singh, Takht and an untitled biopic based on the life of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw. He is in talks for some other projects as well, but those are yet to be announced officially.

Chetan Bhagat says fame in Bollywood can take a serious toll on mental health. The bestselling author, whose novels like 3 Idiots and Kai Po Che! became major films, explained that many actors and directors struggle when their work doesn’t succeed. “There are actors who, when going to a restaurant, if they aren’t recognised, don’t enjoy the meal. They wonder, ‘No one came to click photos?’ Can you imagine what a sick life that is?” he said.

Bhagat added that the pressure of attention and constant public scrutiny can worsen insecurity. He recalled seeing stars fade over time, their mental health affected by the highs and lows of fame.
