Vidya Balan confirmed to star in Tamil remake of Pink

The Amitabh Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu and Kirti Kulhari starrer Pink, which was one of the most successful films of 2016, is set for a Tamil remake. The remake stars southern superstar Ajith in the lead role. Ajith essays the same character which was played by megastar Amitabh Bachchan in the original film.

Recently, there were reports that National award-winning actress Vidya Balan was roped in to put up a special appearance in the movie. Looks like all reports were true as the same has been confirmed by the film’s producer Boney Kapoor.

Talking about Balan’s presence in the remake, Kapoor says, “I wouldn’t call it a special appearance. There are certain changes that the director (H Vinoth) has incorporated to suit the Tamil market, and Vidya’s character has been accordingly written. We hope to bring the remake of Pink to theatres on May 1, 2019.”

Meanwhile, Vidya Balan is presently shooting for her upcoming film Mission Mangal. Also starring Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha, Taapsee Pannu and Kirti Kulhari in significant roles, the space odyssey movie is set to release on 15th August, 2019.
