Vivek Oberoi set to headline a biopic on Indian Prime Minister

Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi, who is known for his performances in such successful films as Saathiya (2002), Masti (2004) and Krrish 3 (2013), has been finalized to play Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in an upcoming biopic.

The film will be helmed by National award-winning filmmaker Omung Kumar. It will be produced by producer Sandip Ssingh. Both have previously collaborated on Sarbjit (2016) and Bhoomi (2017). Reportedly, the biopic is titled PM Narendra Modi and will start production later this month.

Sharing details on Twitter, noted film critic and trade analyst Adarsh wrote, "It’s official... Vivekanand Oberoi (Vivek Oberoi) to star in Narendra Modi biopic, titled PM Narendra Modi. Directed by Omung Kumar... Produced by Sandip Ssingh... First look poster will be launched on 7 Jan 2019... Filming starts mid-Jan 2019."

If reports are to be believed, the makers are planning to unveil the first poster of the film in 23 different languages. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is expected to roll out the first poster on 7th January.

"Sandip Ssingh and Vivek came up with the idea of roping in the CM for the unveiling. When the makers approached him, he readily agreed. The event is scheduled to take place at the Garware Club House in South Mumbai. Apart from Vivek's look, makers are also expected to announce the release date of the film," a source close to the development said.
