Vivian Dsena opens up about quitting Shakti – Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki

Vivian Dsena is undoubtedly one of the most popular actors on Indian television. Ever since beginning his career, the actor has always made a point to choose characters that are out of the ordinary. Be it Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani, Madhubala – Ek Ishq Ek Junoon or Shakti — Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki, his selection of shows has always been amazing.

The 30-year-old actor was last seen in Rashmi Sharma Telefilms’ hit show Shakti — Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki. It featured him in the role of a rich boy from an influential family, who goes all out to marry a transgender. Vivian received enormous praises for his performance in the show. However, after being a part of Shakti — Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki for almost three years, the actor quit the show, surprising his fans across the world.

In a recent interview, when the actor was asked if it difficult for him to walk away from the show, he replied, “Everything in the world comes with eventuality. Honestly speaking, I thought the leap was the time when I could walk off. Imagine after 20 years of a leap, I have a son who is 22 years old, and I am myself 30 years old. It is not relatable to me. Imagine the young actor speaking to me as buddies once the camera is cut. Somehow, I did not have a conviction towards this and they knew this from day 1 that post leap Vivian wouldn't be comfortable doing this. This is nothing new. Actually, during Madhubala too, I had left the show post leap.”

Upon being asked if he has ever been offered Bigg Boss, the actor said, “When they offered me Bigg Boss, I was doing Shakti and there were creative talks going on with them. But imagine, a person who is not even active on social media, how will he be comfortable in front of the camera all day confined in a house,” the actor said in conclusion.

What Britain’s ban on strangulation porn really means and why campaigners say it could backfire

Highlights:

  • Government to criminalise porn that shows strangulation or suffocation during sex.
  • Part of wider plan to fight violence against women and online harm.
  • Tech firms will be forced to block such content or face heavy Ofcom fines.
  • Experts say the ban responds to medical evidence and years of campaigning.

You see it everywhere now. In mainstream pornography, a man’s hands around a woman’s neck. It has become so common that for many, especially the young, it just seems like part of sex, a normal step. The UK government has decided it should not be, and soon, it will be a crime.

The plan is to make possessing or distributing pornographic material that shows sexual strangulation, often called ‘choking’, illegal. This is a specific amendment to the Crime and Policing Bill. Ministers are acting on the back of a stark, independent review. That report found this kind of violence is not just available online, but it is rampant. It has quietly, steadily, become normalised.
