What is John Abraham's Parmanu all about?

John Abraham starrer Parmanu is finally set for release on May 25 after a lengthy legal battle between its initial co-producers JA Entertainment and KriArj Entertainment, and the actor is looking forward to how the audience will react to his comeback to mainstream Bollywood cinema.

Abraham's last release, Force 2, hit the screens almost two years back.

So what is Parmanu all about?

Plot: The story is based on the nuclear bomb test explosions conducted by the Indian Army at Pokhran in 1998. Abraham plays the lead of the Pokhran Nuclear test team.

The film highlights all the highs and lows of the project that put India on the map as global nuclear superpower.

Trailer: Check out the trailer of the movie below:

Cast: Besides Abraham, the film has Diana Penty and Boman Irani in lead roles. The film is directed by Abhishek Sharma.

Pro-India film: During a recent interaction with the media, Abraham called Parmanu a very pro-India movie.

"To answer that question, this is not an anti-Pakistan film, it is a very pro-India film," Abraham said when asked if the movie would be released in Pakistan, reported IANS. "So, we are very clear this is a film about India and we are going to celebrate this. If we start thinking about other markets, we would be compromising on our film. We wanted to tell the story as it is."

Legal trouble: Parmanu was in a lockdown after co-producers JA Entertainment and KriArj Entertainment became at loggerheads. This saw Abraham, who is also producing the movie, filing a criminal cases against KriArj Entertainment for cheating, breach of trust, defamation and offences committed under the Information Technology Act.

The Bombay High Court ruled in favour of John's banner.
