ZEE5 Global announces new crime thriller Jaanbaaz Hindustan Ke starring Regina Cassandra

ZEE5 Global, the world's largest streaming platform for South Asian content, set a benchmark for thrillers in 2022. From hit releases like Abhay 3 to Rangbaaz – Darr Ki Rajneeti and Duranga, the platform saw a successful year and is now ready to bring its next original, Jaanbaaz Hindustan Ke, a crime thriller starring Regina Cassandra in a pivotal role.

Produced by Juggernaut and helmed by national award-winning director, Srijit Mukherji, Jaanbaaz Hindustan Ke focuses on a woman IPS officer, Kavya, played by Regina Cassandra. Kavya is spontaneous, dedicated, a go-getter, and takes on all her mission head-on-on. Nothing stops her when it comes to fighting for the country. Shot in the beautiful and raw locations of Meghalaya, the show is an edge-of-the-seat thriller. It brings to the forefront the story of real heroes in uniform who silently and tirelessly work towards the betterment of the country.

Inspired by true events, Jaanbaaz Hindustan Ke also highlights the personal sacrifices and dedication relentlessly offered by officers in uniform. The show will be available in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu on ZEE5 Global.

Archana Anand, Chief Business Officer, ZEE5 Global said, “We’ve seen strong momentum for crime thrillers in 2022. In 2023, we look to build out this momentum further with yet another enthralling story, ‘Jaanbaaz Hindustan Ke’. Nimisha Pandey, Chief Content Officer – Hindi Originals, ZEE5 said, “We are elated to kick-start 2023 on a high note with a strong female cop in ‘Jaanbaaz Hindustan Ke’, who challenges the stereotypes around the portrayal of women across the screens. With a gritty storyline, the series gradually unfolds the multiple character layers of protagonist Kavya Iyer, essayed by Regina Cassandra, as she balances her personal and professional life at every step. Director Srijit Mukherji has brought alive the characters in the show with his authentic storytelling The year 2022, was marked by experimentation for us, with an array of shows garnering love and support from audiences around the globe. We aspire to carry forward this positive momentum with ‘Jaanbaaz Hindustan Ke’, our tribute to India’s forces, their bravery, and sacrifices. We are excited to build our own brave heart universe with ‘Jaanbaaz’."

Actor Regina Cassandra said, “Putting rumours to rest, I am thrilled to be a part of Jaanbaaz Hindustan Ke helmed by Srijit Mukherji. It’s been three months since we shot this crime thriller in four breath-takingly beautiful Indian states that gave it the rawness it needs. Wearing the IPS officer Uniform was a surreal experience for me. This is up there with the most empowering characters I have essayed so far. Officers wear multiple hats and I believe that Jaanbaaz Hindustan Ke truly captures that. I feel blessed to see myself in a Khaki uniform. I am glad to be a part of this show and it premieres soon on ZEE5 Global.”

Jaanbaaz Hindustan Ke will premiere exclusively on ZEE5 Global.
